How long should I broil three tilapia filets?

I've actually never made broiled fish before but I'm attempting it tonight. I found a recipe with butter, garlic, thyme, tarragon and lemon. (If that helps at all.) The recipe says broil three to five minutes per side, but that sounds like an awfully short time to cook the fish thoroughly so I just want to be double sure. (Wouldn't want anyone to get food poisoning or anything) Is that about right for broiled fish?
